We arrived to Brendan eating chicken sandwiches and playing darts with his mates...you couldn't ask for a better start to your wedding day so Brett & I knew that this one was going to be a goodie.
Ash & Brendan were married at Coombe Melba Estate in the Yarra Valley; an hour or so east of Melbourne.
Dress, flowers, location, cake, dance, everything amazing.
These guys rule... #humbyeverafter
I love a black tie wedding. They are so classicly beautiful.
We didn't have one ourselves, but when I am at one it always feels so regal and Claire & Josh's Melbourne wedding did not disappoint!
The ceremony was held at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Middle Park followed by their reception at Metropolis Events in Southbank.
The day was so gorgeous, it was warm but not too warm and the evening was deliciously balmy.
Question: What's better than you and your besties in matching pj's, laughing?
Not much I can think of...
Happy Days Lovely People!
...and silver, and bronze, and pewter, and green, and pearl...
We all know what Billy Idol thinks but these days brides are definitely thinking outside of the box when it comes to their gown.
Designers are mixing things up and metallicas are huge right now and these designers all have something to offer that fits the bill.
Brett & I had our three nieces as flowergirls at our wedding.
The Duchess of Cambridge had four flowergirls & Poppy Delevingne had sixteen.
Kate Moss had a flock of fifteen & Kate Moss is NEVER wrong!
So...Tiny Attendants? Yes or No? Have a little scroll and you tell me...
Everyone say "awwwwww"!
This Byron Bay wedding is just stunning!
Holly glowed with her baby bump at their intimate wedding at Byron View Farm in the Byron Hinterland & it was clear that Mitch was smitten.
Holly & Mitch's first meeting was on a flight from Newcastle. She was flight attendant and he was a passenger sitting in the exit row as she did the safety demonstration. For the entire flight he tried to think of how he was going to speak with her. He decided to write his name on a tiny piece of paper and handed it to the ground crew to pass on to her. Holly took a chance, called him and the rest, as they say, is history!
Congratulations Guys & best wishes for next month when you welcome your baby into the world!
Let's face it, most men I know would rather watch paint dry than go shopping, so it's always great to see how well put together our grooms are on their big day.
When king gees, high vis, baseball caps, wetsuits or sneakers are out of the question, from somewhere deep within, some of the most stylish men appear.
Whether it's a black tie affair, a winery wedding, on a country farm or barefoot in the Byron Hinterland - the boys look the business.
So Guys, pull up your man-chair and get inspired...
Today we catch up with our pal Gwendolynne Burkin from the most delicious of labels - Gwendolynne.
Her bespoke wedding gowns are hand crafted in Melbourne. The beadwork is amazing. Her brides look incredible...every time...and we have been lucky enough to work with some of them.
The gowns are so exquisite that that speak for themselves. Instead I asked her five completely unrelated questions to get a glimpse inside the mind of this magical woman.
Here we go...
If you could relive any day of your life again - would you redo a wrong or have the same fun for the second time...and why?
"Redo a wrong - first thing that comes to mind is I would spend more time with my Dad. I was too young to understand when he was leaving; us nothing seemed real; I had no sense of death yet. It is heartbreaking to recall the last moments with him as a skeleton on too many painkillers. At 16 it was a conflicting time not understanding my emotions & I regret not knowing or being with him. I want to ask him so many things."
If I could grant you three wishes - what would they be?
1. Worldwide balance & acceptance of all kinds of ways of being.
2. Fairness, Logic & Kindness applied to all i.e.) more people should watch Star Trek!
3. And a selfish wish I want at least 5mts x 5mts of earth to have a rambling garden at my home that faces sunset but also have an area where I can grow ferns & also yummy food!
If you could chat to your 20 year old self - what would be your top tips for life?
"Don't bother dating anyone yet; no one's ready to settle so just chill, dance and have fun!
Buy property ASAP
Wear sensible shoes
Moisturise your neck & hands!"
Describe the colour yellow to someone who is blind.
"Yellow is warm. It's the feeling of sun & the intensity of fire. It smells like butter & daffodils. It begins the day."
You’ve been given an elephant. You can’t give it away or sell it. What would you do with the elephant?
"Talk to it & cuddle it! But it could be squishy in my apartment. Do you think it could hang out on my patio? How on earth would I get it up the stairs to my apartment?"
Gwendolynne's Studio is at 71 Kerr Street, Fitzroy, Victoria

In my obsession for anything white...I am loving this Melbourne wedding of Jane & Andrew. It was stunning!
As soon as we arrived at Jane's parents' house and met all the gorgeous girls we knew it was going to be a wedding to remember.
Whist the forecast was 90% chance of rain, as soon as the the ceremony began the clouds cleared and it transformed into they prettiest day - with the prettiest light.
Both the ceremony & reception were held at one of our favourite venues Circa in Melbourne's bayside suburb of St. Kilda.
I’m not really going to write much more, I think the pictures speak for themselves.
Straight up wedding cake isn't the only cool kid in town any more. Grab a fork and acquaint yourself with these guys...
No. More. Words. Needed.
I spent the first 21 years of my life in Tassie. I was born in Hobart and love visiting my family whenever I can. Each time Brett & I make the trip we make sure we do & see our favourite things: A wander around Salamanca Market on Saturday morning, a scoff of a lentil pie from the Sandy Bay Bakery & a visit to Mona. Since it was built in 2011 we have visited too many times to count; so when we were asked to shoot a wedding there we jumped up and down with glee.
Kristen & Robbie chose the Easter long weekend to be married which meant that their guests were able to enjoy 4 days on the Apple Isle. (Speaking of fruit...check out the cake!)
Robbie's preparations started at a small miner's cottage in historic Battery Point, after which he met all the guests on the pier to catch the Mona ferry. Kristen spent the morning at the Pavillion at Mona with her bridesmaids.
The reception was beautiful! The rooms was dressed with mostly natives except for the table of orchids to compliment Kristen's bouquet. Food was a shared feast of deliciousness placed in the centre of each table.
A big, fat, Tassie congratulations to these guys!
I am a sucker for fresh flowers. When Brett surprises me with them my heart does a little flip and I giggle like a teenager. Bretty, are you reading this?
Every weekend I get excited to see which direction each bride has chosen to go with her bouquet. From roses to peonies, tulips, orchids, daisies, gerberas, gypsophilla, you name it, we're loving it.
In bouquets, table settings, wreaths, chandeliers, buttonholes, flower crowns & even on the family dog! In jam jar, tea pots, buckets & on wine barrels. If you can put them in it or on it, I say go for it!
I hope you enjoy pining over these delicious blooms...Now if only there was Smellevision...

We both love living in Melbourne. We love coffee, wearing black & don't even mind the traffic because we know that every 8 weeks or so we will be chilling by the ocean in our second favourite place, Byron Bay. This summer we have been so crazy busy shooting weddings in Melbourne that we found ourselves homesick for the Byron beaches. Fortunately this gorgeous wedding eased the longing as it was hot, hazy & seaside.
Sam & Dan chose The Deck At Circa as the backdrop for their wedding. The were married under the most beautiful Chuppah by Chuppahs Of Melbourne before heading off to St. Kilda Beach for their bridal party & couple photos.
The party itself was exactly that...a party. After kicking everything off with the hora to end all horas, the night rolled on with amazing roving food & heaps of dancing.
Oh, and did we mention the dessert station? Yes please!
